Lord Aeck Sargent completed a feasibility study for the expansion and renovation of the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.
The existing Center, originally designed by Aeck and Associates, had outgrown its facilities and the current needs varied widely from a formal theatre to live music and dance performances.
The heart of the design solution was a new 250-seat, modified black box theater. Also included in the new building were rehearsal areas, a green room, dressing rooms and a large backstage area for loading and storage. The facility design included 2,500 sf of gallery space to allow for the display of either traveling installations or the works of local artists. The renovations to the existing facility included enlarged dressing rooms, improved loading and back stage storage, as well as updated audio-visual presentation and recording capabilities.
Once completed, the renovation and addition would provide flexible and highly functional spaces that would last well into the future.
